this is a 6x8inches octagon terrarium. It is made of stainless steel and glass. Like its smaller version, it has two vents oppositing each other.

The plants I choose: maiden hair fern and saxifraga. It was set up in late April and now the plants live well.

It proofs that: maiden hair fern is a low maintenance plant as long as you provide it a "close " moist environment for it.

Will shoot an update.

Its building video:

Followup on early Oct.

I left it in a corner and forgot watering. The maiden hair fern leaves died. So I planted a small Acorus calamus. (By middle Oct. the maiden hair fern grows back).

Project 2:

I use a rock shape ceramic planter with no drainage hole.

The plants:

Acorus calamus and nerve plants

Acorus calamus is a water plant so it can grow well inside the planter.

Building video will be uploaded later.

Project 3:

The main plant in this terrarium is a wild fern I collected nearby.I love wild ferns and highly recommend everyone take time to explore the beauty of their local native plants.

Wild plants are naturally beautiful and often thrive with minimal care. This particular fern originally had large fronds, but one was damaged during transplanting. Now, a new and even larger leaf has begun to grow (not shown in the following photos, as they were taken on the same day the terrarium was built).

The smaller companion plant is a Saxifraga, and the rocks used here are black volcanic lava stones, providing a bold, natural contrast to the lush greenery.
