This is a cute terrarium, designed for insects. It is summer and my 7 year old loves pick bugs home. I do not want that little guest stay in plastic box and here is this terrarium comes out.

We released several new and this is one of the insect terrariums. They all have wide large glass panels for watching.

This is a long one. It suits only short plants so I choose peacock moss, saxifraga. I also glue a piece of wood and lava rock do add some landscape.

I promise you this is a good one. When I wrote this post, it has been over a month since finished. The peacock makes it very rainforest atmosphere. This one definitely worth try. Will keep it updated.

Updates:

I want to keep it dry and thus removed peacock moss, this is how it looks now (have my spider in another enclusre so I finally can clean it:

The second project with this terrarium:

I build a small one with moss and maiden hair fern collected from my flower pot.

This time I made some improvement.

I use cooking foil to make a small container. In the container I placed the plants.

Then a layer of black lava is covered.

why: for moss and fern, the drainage is too well that I need to water frequently. If I miss it for one time, yellow leaves is what i get. They do can recover but I need a more efficient and less attention-needing way.

Cooking foil is a great idea by far. I also reuse dipping sauce contaienrs which are samll and will work perfectly small space.

Those plants grows much better than I expected. Will show update followup videos later.
