Its building video:

The following is variant of this teardrop terrarium. It have 5 small holes on top panels.

I have a beautiful driftwood and this is how this project starts.

Materials:

  • Small black lava rock

  • One piece of driftwood with multiple gaps (you can see the structure clearly in my video)

  • A small amount of red clay

  • Some dried moss or sphagnum moss

Plants:

  • Cushion moss (Leucobryum)

  • Micro saxifraga

  • A small Araucaria (hoop pine) seedling

This glass terrarium is quite large, and the door is wide enough, so I can finish planting everything first and then place it inside.

First, I place the Araucaria (with some original soil still attached—no need to clean it) into the largest gap at the top of the driftwood. I use that same soil to fill around the roots and secure the plant.

Next, I fill the gaps in the driftwood with sphagnum moss and red clay.

  • The sphagnum moss is used to fill larger gaps

  • The red clay is applied to smaller grooves and side surfaces, so the moss can stick and stay in place later

Then I place the cushion moss over the surface.

Finally, I choose a few spots and use tweezers to insert small pieces of micro saxifraga into the moss.

The rest is simple. Add a layer of fine black lava rock to the bottom of the container, place the finished piece inside, mist lightly, and close the door.

building video will be uploaded later.
