This is a very simple terrarium featuring cushion moss (Leucobryum) and maidenhair fern (Adiantum).
Container
A two-piece geometric terrarium:a geometric glass dome on top and a base that holds water and soil (you can find it on www.ncypgarden.com website.
Build Processwebsite
Add a layer of small lava rock at the bottom as a drainage layer
Place decorative stones in the center (here I used cork bark)
Add sphagnum moss and press it down firmly
Insert the maidenhair fern into gaps between the stones
(no need to clean the roots—just wrap them with dry moss)
Add a thin layer of soil in other areas
(any soil works, or you can even use small lava rock instead)
Place the cushion moss on top
That’s it—finished.
Originally, I planned to use a Venus flytrap in the center, but I only had a maidenhair fern on hand at the time. I’ll switch it to a flytrap later.
