I do love sophisticated microlandscape terrarium projects. But there are lots of need for easy insects terrariums.
No matter tin terrarium or our mesh terrariums, they are not designed to hold water and some times even sphagnum is paved at bottom, it may leak due to overwatring.
This series of terrariums projects are made to provide an easy solution for this problem.
(why we don't do some watertight one? We did do and one of it is acrylic which will be posted later. For acrylic, there is a big problem, that is it bends. I will write a post about it later).

pine barks and dollar grass. Dollar grass is worlwide available. They are cheap, and has multiple variants. They can be planted with soil or in water. It is appretiated by its lotus-leave like leaves.
