If you enjoy bonsai, want to find the perfect terrarium-sized plants, or simply hope to save money while growing, this article is for you.

What I’m sharing here is a mix of miniature landscapes and cuttage experiments, all inside close terrariums. The beauty is—you can do both at the same time. A close terrarium naturally acts as a mini propagation station, and moss plays a big role in helping cuttings survive and thrive.

For these trials, I experimented with different types of moss, both live and dried, to see how they affect cuttage success.

But there are common points:

  1. They’re perfect for indoors.

  2. They look beautiful.

  3. They’re highly efficient.

I’ll be posting updates as the cuttings progress, so check back later for follow-ups!

1)

moss: leucobryum moss or pin cushion moss. I use dry moss (it has been kept dry for a long time). The longer it keeps dry,the longer time it needs to regreen.

plant cutting: azalea Rhododendron 'Komachi'

2)

moss: fresh Hypnum plumaeforme Wils. moss

plant cutting:

Buxus microphylla, korean boxwood
