two moss terrarium projects built with what I have in hands

I put them together because they are created with same terarrium at the same day and use the same method. The plants are slightly different according to what I had in hand at that time.


I share them here for any one who want to duplicate it.


The first one:

the wood: shrimp wood

The soil that pressed behind the wood: red clay and Diatomaceous rocks (please scroll below and there is a video for how I mix them). You can change to other small rocks size 1-3mm.

The plants: begonia(propagated from its mother plant) , tree moss, Leucobryum moss.


BTW, those close terrarium is the best container for propagate small tropical plants like begonia dn tree moss.

The small begonia was just cutted from its mother plants. The flowers keep longer time and the leaves grows larger compared with the one I transplanted to an open terrarium.

They all use red clay.

Here is clips for how I mix red clay and and diatomaceous rockes to make it harder (so it can be more supportive) and still sticky.
