This is how it looks like.

Those photos were taken same day when finished. I was still a little unsure that if this terrarium can still keep moist enough to let the fern and moss survive in air conditioned room (it is a lot dry). When I write this post the plants grows well and its update video and photos is on schedule.

This is a small hexagon terrarium, with two side vents. It is pretty small (in the following building vide you can see that I tried different woods to finally choose a suitable one).

The fern and moss was digged from my balcony flower pots. I am a big shade plant lover and I keep lots of them so there are always moss and unknown fern under my plants.

The material I use, from bottom up.

small clay ball

dry green moss (sphagnum ok too, as long as it is moss)

diatomaceous rockes (I know you may ask can it just be ordinary soil? Yes ok. I choose it to make the terrarium more clean. I mean when you water it, the extra water leaking out and it still keeps clean. dry moss will work but I need it work better. This terrarium is designed to be kids friendly and kids usually tend to over water. This is also the reason why it can leak.).

moss and wild fern picked from my pot.

peacock moss (also picked from my flower pot).

and piece of rock and root (this is a small rhododendron root, you can find them online or from the shop selling fish tanks).
